Chef de Partie & Commis Chef

Bowood is currently looking for a Chef de Partie and a Commis Chef to join our professional team within Bowood. These roles will be focusing on Conference & Banqueting and the Clubhouse Brasserie.

We are looking for people who are passionate about food and achieving the high expectations of our guests

Experience in a similar position is beneficial but not essential. Ideally you will have an NVQ Level 2 or NVQ Level 3 in Food Preparation and a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate. This is an excellent opportunity for the right individuals wishing to pursue and further their career as a chef.

Key areas of accountability will be to ensure that all foodstuffs are prepared and presented to meet the required standards in relation to quality, hygiene and profitability. You will have an excellent knowledge of current health and safety legislation, together with current food & hygiene regulations. It is essential that you are motivated, professional and work well as part of a team to ensure that the kitchen operates efficiently.

In addition you will have a flexible approach to working hours as you will be required to work 5 out of 7 days and including evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.

Food & Beverage Assistants (Bar experience essential) - Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort

We currently have opportunities for experienced Food & Beverage Assistants to join our eam at Bowood Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort. Previous bar experience within a busy environment is essential.

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and committed individuals who are passionate about providing excellence customer service and memorable guest experiences. In addition applicants must be available year round and be able to work mornings, afternoons and evenings shifts on a rota basis. Please note that we currently have a full compliment of summer seasonal staff.

The opportunities will be in our busy Food & Beverage environments. Pastry Chef

Hillbrooke Hotels have recently taken over the management contract for Bowood Hotel & Spa nr Calne, Wiltshire.

Hosting 43 bedrooms, individually designed by the Marchioness of Lansdowne, a fine dining restaurant - The Shelburne Restaurant, and a state of the art Spa complex, Bowood Hotel and spa has stunning views of open parkland and caters for families, business travellers, spa and golf breaks.

A wide range of dining options in stunning locations; from fine dining in the 2 AA Rosette awarded Shelburne Restaurant, Brasserie style eating in the Clubhouse Brasserie, or a relaxed coffee and sandwich in the Temple Gate Coffee Shop at Bowood House.

Bowood is passionate about great, seasonal British food which is prepared as far as possible from locally sourced, quality ingredients. The Bowood Estate is very conscious of sustainability and the Hotel is therefore keen to use the extensive resources on its doorstep, including produce from Lord and Lady Lansdowne’s own gardens.

Creating memorable and personal guest experiences whether guests are visiting for the morning or afternoon or staying for a longer period, is paramount.

Beauty Therapist

3 therapists required:

Under the general direction of the Spa Manager to be responsible to drive sales and revenue in the beauty department and to conduct training and development with the Spa and beauty team. Also to ensure appropriate beauty advice and treatments are given to all clients and to promote beauty treatments available to potential clients. Responsible for all clients with Spa treatment and consultations, ensuring high standards of professionalism and customer service.

Experience/attributes required

Minimum NVQ level 3
Or relevant current trade experience in a well known spa
High level of attention to details
Excellent customer service skills, polite and well presented
Organisational skills, good telephone manner and computer literate.
Experience with Jessica manicure/pedicure.

Other training provided and paid for by Bowood Spa commencing 12^th December for 1 week.

Position is casual but continuous expected minimum 20 hours / week..

Salary:£6.10 / hour.

Sous / Senior Sous Chef

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic and committed individual as Sous / Senior Sous CHEF. The hotel built 2 years ago benefits from a very large, well equipped modern kitchen, Deputising to our New Head/Executive Chef you will be part of an ambitious team under the hotels new management to take the cuisine and business forward.

The position would suit someone with quality kitchen management experience, cooking hands on daily for each service and collaborating with the Head Chef on menu design and cost control. All fresh produce menus, focusing on modern British cuisine, catering for fine dining (2 rosette) and conferences and events. (Brasserie kitchen is separate but will require Sous Chef input from time to time)

Full-time position working on a shift basis including weekends and evenings

£20-25,000+ Depends On Experience +Tips

Shifts vary, 5 days / week, this can include mornings / evenings and weekends
